Hveragerði

Hveragerði is my 2nd home. In 2018 it was 18 years since my family moved to Hveragerði, Iceland from a small town in Lithuania and I got the honor of staying at Varmahlíð Art Residency in March 2018 and reconnecting with the surroundings and people whom I got to know during that one year when I was only 10.

Currently the town has become a popular stop for tourists on the way to the hot springs, which has caused quick erosion in the nature.

The residency ended with a performance at LÁ Art Museum and video screening and an exhibition of up-cycled multimedia works and a photography collaboration with Catalonian artist Sara G. Amo.
